Context
The Fondation IntégrACTION du Québec in cooperation with the CRDI Normand-Laramée offers accomodations and accompanying service for autistic children. These services are offered via its multifunctional facility: the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Center (CMJC). The CMJC can support 9 autistic children during the school year from Monday night to Friday morning. The persons enjoying this service are chosen by the CRDI following a careful study of their application. The names of the persons are forwarded to the FIQ as well as the dates of the stay.

Avoid institutionalization and allow parents to get some rest.
Definition
By definition, a respite home for autistic children is a temporary and short term accommodation facility provided to a person with an intellectual handicap and having complex needs requiring a specific human or physical support.
Eligible persons
The persons eligible to the service must be less than 18 years of age and go to school.
How to access the service?
The persons enjoying this service usually live in Laval in their natural family and must be registered in the CRDI Normand-Laramée via the standard access procedure. They must contact the social worker of their CLSC or their educator at the CRDI Normand-Laramée.

You will be informed of the current pricing policy when signing up via the access procedure to the CRDI Normand-Laramée.
Reservation procedures
The CRDI Normand-Laramée will contact the families selected for this service and will send a copy of the child's application to the accommodation coordinator.
Greeting time
The CMJC greets children on Monday at the end of the school day till the Friday morning.

General rules -
Personal record
Parents are required to complete a personal health record and provide a photo of their child before his first stay at the Center. They also need to sign the authorizations required by The IntegrACTION Foundation of Quebec. Parents are responsible for advising us of any change in the child's personal health record: intervention plan, support, medication, etc. The FIQ declines any liability in the event that such information is not forwarded in a timely manner.
- Medication
Users of the facility are required to bring their medication in a well identified Dosette with their pictures providing their names. Parents must ensure that directions for use of this medication is accurate. The specialized respite facility must be informed in writing of any change to the medication regimen of the user. We ask facility users with severe and known allergies to bring their « Épi-pen » to the Center. Facility users must carry their insurance card with them. No nursing care is provided without a special agreement with a CLSC. Parents are responsible for advising us of any change in the child's personal health record: intervention plan, support, medication, etc. The FIQ declines any liability in the event that such information is not forwarded in a timely manner.
- Allergies
At the specialized weekend respite all meals and snacks are included. Parents wishing to add food items to our menu need to know that the CMJC will refuse all products, foods and beverages that could have traces of nuts, peanuts and/or citrus fruits (lemons, clementines, kumquats, bergamots, limes, mandarins, oranges, grapefruit, pomelos, tangerines and citrons) due to risks of a severe allergic reaction. We ask that people with known severe allergies to come to our facilities with their « Épi-pen »
- Personal
belongings
All clothing and personal belongings of users of the facility must by adequately identified. Users must ensure they have enough clothing for their stay at the respite facility. No laundry service is available barring special circumstances. Users must provide at all times their incontinence panties or their sanitary towels. Each user must have his entire toilet bag including all hygiene items
- Adapted transit
Parents are responsible for reserving adapted public or private transit services to bring their child to the facility and brimg them back home. The FIQ does not provide this service.
- Smoking
Parents, staff members, volunteers and users are not allowed to smoke at any time in the Marcelle and Jean Coutu center or in the specially adapted yard.
